FASHION WEEK FINAL THOUGHTS

Granted, this post is a bit behind schedule but they were such beautiful collections that I couldn't let this post go unused. Can't wait for September to come for the next NY Fashion Week!

Reem Acra

This collection was my introduction into Reem Acra and what an introduction it was!

Just take a look at these pieces!

Beautifully embellished pieces, truly works of art. The wedding gown on the bottom right is a dream dress, so unique and beautiful, high-waisted, classic silhouette, simply perfection.

Donna Karan New York

A true New York designer, Donna Karan NY's Fall Collection does not disappoint. Some of the most beautiful coats in New York Fashion Week were featured here in this collection. I've always been a fan of Donna Karan New York coats but these are truly something new. Beautiful fabrics and designs which truly showcase the time and commitment that was put on this line. It also featured well-tailored dresses and suits perfect for a day to night look in NYC.

Carolina Herrera

I have always been a huge fan of Carolina Herrera's designs. Last year's Spring Collection featured some wonderful printed designs and this collection stepped it up even more. Let me start off by saying that this collection features designs that are truly a work of art. The gorgeous gown on the left is intricate yet with a simple silhouette and strapless. The floor-length skirt in the middle is to die for. I would love owning that piece and wearing it to as many functions as possible because it is certainly a showstopper and nothing I've seen done with a simple floor-length skirt. Beautiful mix of technique.

Throughout the entire collection you see these intricate designs and lines and a play on the fabric. For example the dress below on the left with the curved red lines running down the simple silhouette white floor-length dress. The fabric is the work of art and it is displayed very beautifully so as to not overwhelm the viewer.

Angel Sanchez

I really enjoyed this Fall Collection. It's another collection simply

made

for NYC. I love the simple yet fierce black outfits. You can distinctly see the different black fabrics and how well they work together.

The collection also features dresses, see above and below, with cut-outs in some discrete areas so as to not take over the overall look of the dress but to truly highlight some features and simply complement the design. Beautiful work.

Tommy Hilfiger's collection this year was inspired by sports and football. It does a great job of mixing comfort with style. It's a perfect collection for the Fall especially when it's a time that people go back to college for the Fall semester and are rooting for their favorite teams. It's a street styler's collection for sure and I love it!

La Petite Robe

This collection is every girly-girl's dream collection. It's beautiful, feminine, and fierce. It takes classic silhouettes and enhances them with bold fabrics and strong cuts.

The dresses are dream-like. The bold designs of the black dresses showed versatility from the designer especially when in the same collection as the beautiful pastel colored dresses below. They are staples in woman's fashion and timeless pieces. Brava!
